I starting my research for this project by thinking of the different steps you take when you go to get your hair cut at a barbers/hairdressers or salon. I put myself in that position to get a better outlook of what it was i wanted to achieve with my logo that would relate to this experience.
After going through the steps i started to look at old barber shops and look at their logos, i then moved on to look at hairdressers and salon and compared the difference between them all as shops. And how they used their logos as a visual weapon in order to attract future and present customers to their hairdressers and no one else’s. Each of the different hair shops took a different approach for example the barbers would use images of prices which where more often than not very cheap, which in this certain recession would attract customers. With the hairdressers and salon they took a totally different approach they would use strong contrasting colours and well thought out logo that where visually pleasing to the eyes. They would also use equipment to dress up the shop windows to help attract future and present customers.
